Electronic Ink and The Philadelphia Orchestra, One of the Leading Orchestras of the World, Launch Redesigned Website
Monday, November 03, 2008
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Electronic Ink, the leading
design consultancy dedicated to improving the way people interact
with technology, their environments, and one another, recently
launched a complete redesign of The Philadelphia Orchestra's
website http://www.philorch.org.
The redesigned site provides an enhanced understanding of the
Philadelphia Orchestra's program offerings and better enables
visitors to interact with the Orchestra, especially to find
concerts and purchase tickets and to make donations. "Electronic
Ink's user/customer-centered design approach, combined with its
technological expertise, helped to create a site that provides our
patrons with an efficient, streamlined process for selecting
concerts and purchasing tickets," said J. Edward Cambron, the
Orchestra's vice president of marketing and public relations.
Compiling usability testing results and feedback from Orchestra
subscribers, single-ticket buyers, and donors, Electronic Ink
redesigned the site to feature intuitive information architecture
and striking visual design in keeping with The Philadelphia
Orchestra's new branding. These elements work together to make the
experience of browsing simple and engaging, and the process of
purchasing tickets or subscriptions easily accessible throughout
the site. New features that Orchestra website visitors will find
are "My Account," which allows account-holders the opportunity to
view their complete transactional history; a special area
exclusively for eZseat and eZseatU members; improved search
functionality; and easier-to-access concert add-ons such as program
notes and audio clips. The new web presence reinforces the
Orchestra's identity as a world-class institution with over a
century of acclaimed performances, international tours, and
best-selling recordings.
"Electronic Ink was able to draw upon our experience with
leading entertainment clients to show our value proposition to The
Philadelphia Orchestra," said Harold Hambrose, CEO and Founder of
Electronic Ink. "Together, we effectively transformed the
Philadelphia Orchestra website to reflect its updated brand
identity while providing users with a seamless on-line research,
browsing and purchasing experience."
