Electronic Ink Usability Lab
Electronic Ink Usability Lab
What is usability testing?
Usability testing measures how well a Website, software application, or product meets the needs of the end user. It provides data for design decisions, requirements, identification and validation and strategic direction for your technology solution. When users are involved early and often in product development, production time and costs are cut, rate of user adoption increases, and a better product is produced.
Leverage our expertise in usability testing
Electronic Ink's Human Factors group was formed in 1995 to bring user feedback into the technology and software design and development process. With advanced degrees in Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI) and experience across industries and technologies, our Human Factors analysts employ the most appropriate methodologies to assess usability, taxonomy, navigation and other critical issues in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Observe, measure, evaluate and improve how people interact with software, devices and technology.
Measure success and error rates, task completion time, quantitive comparisons of before and after redesign and subjective feedback and ratings.
From Web sites, intranets and extranets, to video displays and telephony, applications and prototypes, you can conduct user testing on any platform in our Usability Lab.
Our testing methodology includes:
- Card-sorting
- One-on-one user interviews
- Contextual inquiry
- Accessibility assessment
- Task analysis
- Computer activity tracking, including task duration, key strokes and mouse clicks
- Editable digital and analog video capture including picture-in-picture
Electronic Ink Human Factors will employ whatever user group you need to obtain valuable insight, including general public, employees and customers, medical and other professionals, persons with specific medical conditions, senior citizens, children and more.
Learn how to run a usability study
Our Human Factors experts can train your customer representatives how to run usability tests, or help you conduct your own usability testing sessions. We regularly conduct seminars at the Usability Lab and on-site at customer locations on topics such as establishing an in-house usability department and usability guidelines within your organization. View our upcoming seminar topics in our Usability Center.
